About the photograph.
This was one of those rare days where everything lined up. We hiked Riisitunturi twice—once at sunrise, once at sunset—just to see how the light transformed the landscape. Both were worth it, but this moment came right after sunset, when the last light lingered and most people had already left. The temperature dropped fast, and the forest went quiet.
We strapped on snowshoes and wandered off-trail, looking for fresh snow—untouched, clean, silent. After about half an hour, I found this spot: a set of trees catching the last of the glow, with a soft, untouched foreground leading into the frame.
I took my time with this one. The light was low, but steady. No wind, no distractions—just that perfect balance of cold and calm. This scene felt like it was waiting for us.
