Hi, I’m Samir.
A self-taught photographer from Casablanca, now living in Finland. Thirteen years in, the feeling of heading out with a camera still hasn't changed.
I work in landscape and architectural photography. If the light isn't there, I come back.
On the commercial side, I run Zynopsis Studio, a Helsinki-based architectural and interior photography studio working with design agencies, architecture firms, and hotels across Finland and the GCC.
Looking a little closer
For me, making a photograph starts with deciding what matters in the scene. Sometimes that means a tighter frame, sometimes waiting for the light, and sometimes knowing when to move on. I share those decisions in Less is more, and the moments around the photographs in Behind the picture.
The collections bring together my landscape, architectural and aerial work. In the Journal, I write about photographing in the field and the editing techniques I use afterwards.
